Three Clusters of Concerns

Frances Fuller (1969) three clusters of concerns:

·         Self-concerns – ability to teach; class control; discipline

Talking noisily and tattle tailing each other was a big problem in the class. Getting back the pupils attention once they are engrossed in the computer is also a problem. I was able to overcome each problem.

·         Task concerns – teaching tasks such as big classes; inadequate instructional materials

Lack of equipment (computers) so the pupils have to share the PC’s. Time constraints are one of the reasons that I was not able to finish the lesson. That and the pupils inability to navigate the mouse.

·         Impact: learning concerns – needs of pupils; about themselves as individuals, the tasks and contents of the teaching process, and impact of their teaching on pupil behaviours.

As I said the pupils have difficulty in navigating the mouse so thus the lesson was unsuccessful. But all in all they do know what the keyboard and mouse is for.
